TotalEnergies LUNARIA SH 68 – Synthetic Refrigeration Compressor Oil
LUNARIA SH 68 is a fully synthetic refrigeration compressor oil based on polyalphaolefins (PAO), developed for reciprocating and screw compressors using ammonia (R-717) as refrigerant. It offers extended oil drain intervals, excellent oxidation stability and outstanding performance at very low temperatures. It is NSF H1 registered, making it suitable for applications with occasional food contact.
Product Advantages
• High oxidation resistance with ammonia as refrigerant
• Suitable for critical operating conditions (e.g. air ingress into the system)
• No sludge formation
• Very low volatility – 30–50% reduced oil consumption compared to mineral oils
• Very low pour point prevents frozen residues in the evaporator
• Good compatibility with common sealing materials (polychloroprene, NBR etc.)
Typical Applications
• Reciprocating and screw compressors with ammonia (R-717, NH₃)
• Evaporation temperatures down to –50 °C
• Industrial refrigeration systems, also with occasional food contact (NSF H1)
